WHAT HOMEWORK IS GIVEN AT BEARSDEN ACADEMY?
The Homework policy is linked on our school website and covers an overall approach to homework.
Teachers will set homework regularly when it supports learning in class. Teachers will record homework on a digital homework tool, Satchel One, to allow parents to get an overview of homework set for their child.
WHAT DOES THE HOMEWORK INVOLVE?
Homework will vary between year groups, classes and subjects. Teachers will be mindful of the need to differentiate homework and support young people to learn.
Homework may be digital tasks, quizzes, practice questions, research tasks, or discussion tasks. Sometimes pupils may complete additional support work or finish examples to ensure understanding.
Homework should not become a concern for pupils - if your child is unable to complete work, please contact the school for support.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW AS A PARENT/CARER?
Homework is shared on Satchel One. Each year in September, we send out a parent code that allows you to register a parent account to see an overview of homework. For those that have registered, a reminder of your details is included. If pupils are struggling to access, the office or year head can help.
Please check in on Satchel One to see what homework is due and what homework is completed.
Guidance teachers will contact you if homework becomes a concern for teachers.
